Every year, The ABA travels across Canada showcasing trends for the beauty industry. People are attracted from all over the world to the newest styles in hair trends. Stylists compete in hair competitions, and they get to “show off” the best of their talents.
The competitions for hair are all about the trends, cuts, styles and creativity. It allows stylists to play with wet hair, differing hair lengths, different hair colours, tools and products, as well as clothing. The main stage was taken over by Aveda, Joico, Tressa, Goldwell, Wella, Columar, Schwarzkopf, JPMS, Matrix, Faroukl, Quantum and Redkin.
The educational programs offered at The ABA Show were geared towards looking good and feeling good. The newest trend seems to be about salons building businesses. A lot of salons need education in order to expand, and include new stylists, and have new treatments, as well as include spa services to meet the demands of their clientele. There were new booths and a lot of new products to see.
The trends for this year are bold, bright and sharp looks – more tailor made looks, yet they keep away from the straight sleek styles of yesterday. Speaking of yesterday, where was L’Oreal? Are they last year’s new, because they were no where to be found, and looks-magazine.com members were looking out for what is usually a great showcase.
The ABA Show started on Sunday, April 6th and ended on Monday, April 7th. After hours included an entertainment event at MINK night-club for those who wanted to spice up their night hours.
