John Mascarini has been named vice president of curriculum and methodology at Empire Education Group.

For the past six years, he has  served as general manager for CLiC International (Certified Learning in Cosmetology).  The acclaimed CLiC curriculum offers a major advantage to students who pursue their education at Empire Beauty Schools. The CLiC system is a dynamic, colorful and interactive method of learning that is based on the fact that cosmetology students learn best in a very visual way. Designed with that in mind, CLiC offers a visually exciting, artistically-based education that taps into students’ natural talent and inclinations. In his new role, Mascarini will both lead the CLiC effort and work with his team to develop the most advanced, informative and exciting curriculum in the cosmetology field.

Mascarini has been integral in helping to develop CLiC as a national brand and a cornerstone of the Empire Education Group educational experience. He has also worked with his colleague Randy Rick to develop Creative Learning in Cosmetology, which has been used in many cosmetology schools beyond Empire’s schools.

In his second role as show director for Empire’s Future Professionals Expo, Mascarini has been vital to the planning and execution of the leading student competition and event in the country. The Future Professionals Expo is attended by thousands of students, faculty, industry professionals, employers and exhibitors. Mascarini books and manages the more than 100 exhibitors who participate.

Mascarini’s enthusiasm and charisma extend far beyond the office setting, leading him to become an established musician and drummer. He is a member of the band Burning House, a popular musical group known for its Motown sound.  Mascarini has also toured internationally with acts. such as Pure Prairie League and Vince Gill. He not only brings broad-based experience and a comprehensive knowledge of the business to this position at Empire, but also the excitement, creativity and dynamic personality that have been the hallmarks of his ongoing success.
