KMS held an education seminar on Sunday,June 10, 2007 where approximately three hundred stylists gathered, to learn about the latest in professional products.  The KMS California Global Team mingled over light fare and cocktails for an intimate evening guaranteed to inspire and educate.  The educators at the seminar were contributing KMS stylist, International Artistic Directors Clive Allwright, Michael Crispel and Melanie Morris.  The idea, “Soul. We’ll show you ours if you show us yours,” was the theme.

Experience the KMS product assortment and cutting-edge technology.  This gathering is proof that professional products are much better than drug store products for many reasons.  The main one is that the industry is better educating their employees to better product knowledge.  Better product knowledge means better services offered at salons.  When stylists know what they are talking about, clients want to come to them.  That service is not offered at the drug store, even with a beauty technician.  At drug stores, we are coaxed into trying several products, one after the other: spending countless hours and endless dollars buying different products, just to find the cheaper way out.  Well, what do you know; it ends up costing us more than buying the product recommended at the salon . . .. And we still have those “Bad Hair Days.”

Products differ in formula, and most of the time, all the amount of drug store hairsprays and gels that we use, do not give us the same effect as the proper product which focuses on the right formulas for your exclusive hair type.  With drug store products, we create more distance between the “LOOKS” we want and the look we end up with.  That’s where the KMS California Global Team steps in.  Their statement:  “Can a company have a soul? It’s been said “that the soul is known by its actions” and our actions of celebrating individuality, providing versatility, accelerating stylists’ careers.”  Therefore, as education plays a key role in the “soul” of the Hair Industry when hair professionals remain on the leading edge. After all, stylists should be familiar with more than their clientele, not the other way around.  KMS is building internationally beginning in North America by investing in education, photo shoots and products.  Quality is well known when it comes to KMS.  So I say, let’s not worry about those extra dollars at the salon, and give our hair the right products.  Professional product recommendation by stylists is a value in itself.  Why buy the wrong molding paste when you can buy the right one. Why settle when you donít have to.  Big companies, like the KMS California Global Team, are working hard to educate their employees: why not give them the recognition that they deserve, when you have just allowed them control over your head of hair.  Stylists are more likely to know what products suit your hair type and your hair cut.  You know that feeling from the second the products go onto your hair: when your hair feels softer, full of volume and awakened. Your job is to simply pick out your cut, and let the stylists handle the rest.  Forget the drug store, it’s for prescriptions.
